Over the past 30 years we have experienced a laundry list of historical events with the most recent, a global pandemic, still playing out today. The US economy has fluctuated, politicians have come and gone and technology has advanced to almost unfathomable heights.
Main Street Russellville celebrates 30 years of incorporation this year! In those years, we have invested thousands of dollars in downtown through building grants, public improvement projects, and events. We could brag about the number of volunteer hours we have collected – just over the past 5 years (it’s impressive!), but a month from now you probably won’t remember those numbers.
What will you remember?
You may remember celebrating a wedding, new baby, birthday, or high school graduate at the depot. Maybe you recall a concert under the stars at Depot Park. Perhaps you remember walking down Commerce and tasting chili at Fall Fest or even waking at the crack of dawn to cook chili. The first downtown art walk you attended – or volunteered at. Maybe you even remember the rehabilitation of our beloved Historic Train Depot.
Or maybe your fondest memory is as simple as spending time with your child or grandchild playing with the depot train set or watching trains rumble by?
Over the past 30 years Main Street has been a pillar in Russellville; one that was built through the perseverance and hard work of this community. Whether you have attended or volunteered at an event, contributed financially, or served on our Board of Directors you are a part of Main Street history – Thank You.
Creating these memories would not be possible without the diligence and support of many dedicated individuals – including the past and present staff of Main Street Russellville and Main Street Arkansas. Main Street Russellville could not exist without the city of Russellville. We are grateful for the support we have received from our elected officials, leaders and staff. Thank You.
Main Street Russellville is proud to continue to lead the historic downtown preservation, provide support to and promote our downtown businesses, and organize festivals, concerts, and so many more events for you – our community. With 30 years behind us, we look forward to the future – we are just getting started!
You are invited to join us at a 30th Birthday Ribbon Cutting on April 27th at 11:30 am at the Historic Russellville Train Depot. Hope to see you there.
Please share your Main Street Russellville memories with us at mainstreetrussellvillear@gmail.com and we will choose some to share as part of our 30th Birthday Celebration.
