B Street Bakery and Deli
311 West B Street, Russellville
B Street Bakery has more than your typical cookies and cakes. Cheryl Powell moved here from California with dreams of owning a downtown business and made that dream a reality when she opened her bakery in the heart of Russellville. With 25 years of experience, Cheryl can do it all. The list feels endless, but she has mastered cupcakes, cookies, brownies, baked hand pies, cannolis, macarons, deli sandwiches, paninis, juices, and more. She also does custom orders, party trays, and catering. Everything looks too good to eat and tastes even better.
I got to try one of her most popular daily specials; the southern pot roast panini. It was hearty and felt like a whole meal on a pressed hoagie. The pot roast is slow roasted all night, so it has that perfect melt-in-your-mouth quality to it. And all that goodness is topped off with a layer of creamy provolone cheese. Trust me; this sandwich will leave you wishing for Friday.
And if you’re craving something for dessert (if you have any room left), I recommend the macarons. They’re lightly flavored, chewy yet cakey, and marshmallowy in all the right ways. You’ll feel like a true Parisian when you have one.
This tiny shop on B Street is definitely worth visiting, though it might look different the next time you do. They’re planning to expand soon, which means a more extensive menu, longer hours, brunch, and more seating. Get a sandwich and a macaron for me when you go.
