La Chiquita

La Chiquita isn’t new to the River Valley, but they do have a new location to call home. I was lucky enough to get to visit their new space and taste some of their most popular dishes. My mouth is still watering from the authentic flavors and unique combinations.

The first dish was the Chori-Queso appetizer: a mixture of chorizo, their cheese dip, and fresh slices of jalapeno on top. To be honest, I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. It was comforting and bursting with flavor.

Next up was the Tacos Pastor. Pastor is pork that has been slowly simmered in a pineapple base, making it slightly sweet and complementing the richness of the meat. The tacos came topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and a side of verde sauce that I ended up smothering the tacos in. The combination of flavors and slight heat had me going back for “just one more bite” more than once.

Finally, I got to sample the Nachos Chiquita. This plate was loaded with crunchy chips, cheese dip, fajita vegetables, chorizo, steak, chicken, and shrimp. I’m pretty sure my eyes doubled in size when the plate was presented to me. This meal has everything you could hope for – crunchy, savory, chewy, and downright delicious.

At this new La Chiquita location, you can expect the same great service and favorites that you’ve come to love but in a modern, open, and welcoming environment.
