Age: 42
Occupation: Proprietor of Central Beekeepers Supply
Hometown: North Carolina. My dad, Mike Miller, moved to the River Valley in 1984. As a result, I spent a lot of time back and forth from NC to AR before moving here permanently in 2000.
Family: My husband, John, our kiddos; Mason (30), Josie (15) and Cora (11).

1) What is your favorite book and why?

I never really enjoyed reading until the last 5 or 6 years. And now I love to read, but normally only read true life stories or those that teach to improve self or situations. My favorite book has to be The Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall & Denver Moore. Wow, what an amazing story of how each of us can impact those around us and as a result impact the world.

2) Dog or cat? Why?

Definitely dog. Dogs have a friendly disposition. They return affection and are full of personality. A dog will do life with you. You never see a cat running with their owner at Bona Dea.

3) What do you think is the most positive aspect of living in the River Valley?

I love living in the River Valley. The people are the best thing about living here. I’m always amazed at the number of residents who, like myself, have settled here from somewhere else. I love hearing what brought them here. We have so many different people from all over the nation and even different parts of the world. And everyone has a story!

We are so fortunate to live in the heart of Arkansas. We are a short drive to Mountain View, Hot Springs, Ponca, the Buffalo River, Murfreesboro, all unique and beautiful! Not to mention the local waters, parks, and walking trails.

4) What’s something no one would ever guess about you?

I have a twin brother, Adam. For the first 12 years of our lives, we were referred to jointly as “the twins.”

5) What is your favorite music genre and artist? Why?

Contemporary Christian music, most recently Ann Wilson. I love her root-sy unusual sound.

6) What do you nerd out on?

Everything crafty! I come from a family who creates and makes things. I love basket weaving, making soap, gardening, candles, painting, and most recently wood turning.

7) Where is the one location in the River Valley you would tell a first-time visitor that
they must go?

We have so many must-see’s here in the River Valley. We are surrounded by beauty that I often take for granted. Mt. Nebo is beautiful, but we can’t exclude Petite Jean, Lake Dardanelle, the Buffalo, Lake Dardanelle State Park and anything up Hwy 7N. All are perfect for hiking or kayaking!

8) Pizza, tacos, cheeseburger, or fried chicken? Any particular reason why?

I love food, anything that is not out of a box. But pizza is always a “yes please”. Must eat pizza in the River Valley: River Monsters and Brick Oven.

9) What is your favorite quote? Could be from an inspirational person, could be an
original.

“Life is good”, not completely original from my dad, but definitely his life quote.

10) What is your favorite memory of the River Valley area?

My favorite memory is the summer I learned to water ski when I was 15. We lived on the lake in London. My sister, Erin and I would ski after school all the way through September when it got too cold.
